Utopian Society
Founded quite some time ago by a some people who are now dead, the Utopian Society dares to dream of a better galaxy than this one. Most of its members can't agree on what, exactly, that better galaxy is, but they're all very, very convinced that a better one is possible.
Since the MegaCorporations pretty well define this galaxy, almost all members of the Utopian Society think something should be done about them! Invariably, this is getting rid of them or reforming them in some fashion. By and large, the members of the Utopian Society believe that people need to come first. That may mean genetic modification into a caste system, it may mean return to some sort of mythical state of ignorance about the world living on farms, it may mean a permanent state of euphoric bliss due to widely available drugs that machines produce without need for people to work or it may involve people being completely trustworthy and able to take care of themselves without the need for any laws or government because of course no one would ever manipulate another person.
Regardless, they all think things need a-changing!
Join US!
The notable campaign banner/spaceship bumper stickers/shirt logo/fridge magnet (all of which are actually produced by the Consumer Corporation), Join US (US being the Utopian Society) was decided to be very clever by the elite marketing team trying to reach out to this niche audience. They seem to have been correct, since no Utopian Society member goes anywhere without something (or a lot of somethings) using the trademarked phrase.

Characters
Dominique Buckley
Dominique Buckley is a perfect specimen of what the Media Corporation can create in this day and age. Dominique is striking, elegant, powerful and eminently trustworthy. The cynicism that arose due to the differences between the real galaxy Dominique saw and what Dominique portrays as the real galaxy slowly overtook Dominique. It only made sense that one day Dominique would decide that a third (and entirely different from the other two) real galaxy would be preferable.
Dominique was approached by another media celebrity and asked to Join US! Dominque accepted and is now working to make the galaxy a better place. Dominique has the charm and pazazz to make changing the galaxy both fun and entertaining! Dominique also owns about 20% of the Media Corporation at this time. Dominique wants to secure the support of sufficient shares in every Mega Corporation to make the changes that need to be made.
Anish Patel
A legal alien. The Engineer knows all kinds of things about space ships that these silly humans have never even dreamed about. A few secrets here and there, properly licensed, have netted the Engineer 11% of Precipice Technologies. The Engineer would love to see things run far, far more efficiently than they currently are and could Join US! in order to make things would run more smoothly.
Jesus Rodriguez
An alien, though no one knows it. Knowing a few things more than anyone in this region has helped the Bartender to earn quite the nestegg. This amounts to 8% of the shares of Walton Worlds. The Bartender certainly doesn't have any objection to making some changes in the way things are run, as long as they make sure the Bartender is well taken care of.
Jeff L. Picket
The Captain has had quite the impressive career, considering that the Captain doesn't actually know how to fly a ship if the autopilot isn't working. Nonetheless, the Captain's birth and career has allowed the acquisition of a full 20% of Precipice Technologies. The Captain really does love Space and has always wanted to explore beyond the horizon. Should a proposed course of action by US push back the boundaries, the Captain would happily support it. Spies are so Daring and Bold, that the Captain joined US some time ago.
Ensign Red Shirt
The Red family, though spread out across the many planets and stars of this galaxy, have always been with the Consumer Corporation. Generation after generation, they have accumulated a full 25% of the shares of Walton Worlds. Of course, with their death rate, they've established clear lines of inheritance! The Red family follows orders of course! If that means fighting on the front lines to change society, they'll be there!
Hai Lee
Hai received his training in the Agribusiness Mafia. A no thrills background didn't earn him much in the way of money, but unbeknownst to virtually anyone, Haiis the heir to The Don. Should something happen to the Don (which actually happened last week though word hasn't reached the Ship yet), Hai would control 33.1% of the Agribusiness Mafia. Hai wouldn't have a clue what to do with these shares of course but is desperately looking for excitement. Anythng that offered him excitement (or was pushed on him by the doctor) could easily convince him.
Duha Baha
The Valdez Heir may be a bit young and on the run, but that doesn't stop the Heir from holding 35% of the shares! Duha would love to Join US! Safety would be good, too.
Sir Joseph Butler
The General is just the General. He's been from one side of the galaxy to the other. Through the years, he's picked up an assortment of shares in every Corporation (20% of Precipice Technologies, 5% of others). The General isn't really terribly concerned about his shares, nor is he really concerned about US. Some of that may be dementia ... the rest is that Petunia really does matter more than anything else. Ah, if only she were free...
Petunia
The Navigation's Officer is heavily indebted to the Agribusiness Mafia. Petunia has been saddled with indentureship for the better part of a decade and would happily Join US! so long as it didn't mean lengthening the indentureship, developing any additional debt or being apart from the ship the General is in.
Wahad Th'nein
Number 1 is part of Valdez. Over the years #1 has picked up 11% of the shares. Not bad at all! #1 likes to think that #1 is practical and important. If it was explained that #1 would be playing an important role and would be remembered for it, and particularly if #1 is given an important position in making the changes #1 would Join US!
RX-137 / Roxanne Rose
Now an android, the Communications Officer doesn't recall (prior to amnesia and transplantation of memory) controlling 15% of Banana. Once he remembers the truth, the Communications Officer will be more than willing to make changes!
Avi Levinstein
As one of the most skilled theoriticians and practitioners of last century (and having had a spouse who was very good at filing patents), it is no surprise that the Doctor holds a full 36% of Contenta. The Doctor would love to feel important again. Perhaps the Golden Years are not yet behind.
Madison Wisconsin
The Counselor is a member of Walton WOrlds. Long an industrious sort and usually involved in the advertising side of things, the Counselor has acquired a solid 12% of the shares of Walton Worlds. The Counselor has had a fascination with Dominique Buckley since puberty. Oh for the chance of romance... the Counselor would do anything.
Don Donald Donson
Don Don is one of the upper-ups in the Agribusiness Mafia. While not THE Don, he is a notable Don named Don nonetheless. Don Don has picked up 12% of the shares of the Agribusiness Mafia, 7% of Crystal Network and 5% of Contenta. Don Don isn't really big on changes unless they're profitable, you know? Moving up in the world would be very profitable.
Jip Barton
The Kid is annoying, but sure is good with computers. A few amazingly useful programs (and a fair amount of hacking) has netted the Kid with 30% of the shares of Banana. Sure, the Kid would Join US! As long as they'll listen and not tell the Kid to shut up.
