Character Sheet

Your name is Patrick Doyle. You were born to a lower class family in Boston. You and your four brothers lived in a small house in a run down neighborhood. You were the youngest of your siblings and all of your brothers went to work for the constuction company that your father had been working for since before you were born.

Growing up in the Doyle family taught you how to be tough and to roll with the punches. Your brothers needed someone to beat up and "crap rolls downhill" as they used to say. You loved them, though. They were your brothers. They were teaching you how to be tough and how to deal with the garbage that life would invariably throw at you.

So you grew up being the tough guy that they helped you be. You weren't a bully, but you weren't going to succumb to anyone else's bullying either. You needed to look out for number one, because that's what's important.

You went to public school for most of your adolescence, and you had girlfriends here and there. You were generally happy. People respected you because you were tough. You had people to do your homework and you had people take the blame for you when you broke the rules. But you weren't a bully, people just did these things out of respect.

So when you were in your last year, you started getting concerned about what to do when you left school. You wanted to keep the respect that you garnered. That's when the Boston Police Department made a presentation at your school. They were trying to recruit people. They didn't get many people to sign up, but it gave you ideas.

Police officers easily get respect from people all over, and those that don't respect them get shot. You liked this idea. You liked the idea of wearing a uniform and carrying a gun.

So after graduation, which you only managed due to the efforts of a few 'friends' and a couple of threats to some of the more stubborn teachers, you signed up to join the Boston police department. It wasn't an easy test for you, but you passed the entrance exam and you joined up.

It wasn't what you thought, at first. People didn't like you, and they had no reason to. You were a lowly cadet. It took you a couple years, but you gained that respect again. It cost you a couple broken bones, but it cost others a couple more than that.

When you became a full-fledged officer of the law, you loved to go out on the street and rough up people who didn't look at you right or ticket people who cut you off. You were a tough cop, and you let people know it. On your first day out, some kid, must have been just out of college, got in your way. So you pushed him around a bit and offered to arrest him. After that, he was suitably respectful. That set the tone for the next few years.

It wasn't long before you ran into Fred. She was one of the first people you met who was almost as tough as you. She almost knocked you out when you called her Winifred. You liked her, she had spirit, but you wouldn't let her boss you around. So you worked out a deal with her. She would cut you in on some of her deals, and you would get her access to some police records and evidence from earlier drug busts.

This was the start of your dealings with Fred and others on the street. After a while, you had connections all over the city. You've made quite a bit of money over the past few years, and you've made a couple enemies, but nothing you can't handle.

About a year ago, you were meeting with one of your connections by the name of "Johnny Fingers" in a red line station in the middle of the night. This guy was trying to welch on a debt he had to you. So you beat some sense into him. You took the drugs he had on him and you were about to leave him there when you noticed a kid standing down on the other side of the station.

You don't know if he saw you, but you couldn't take that chance. You walked up behind him and gave him a little push. He fell into the tracks and you walked away.

Walking back to your car, you thought about what you did. Not only did you take part in a felony, but you committed murder. You thought about all the things you had done over the past year. You didn't feel bad about it. You did what you needed to to look out for yourself and to get yourself the status and respect that you rightly deserved.

But there was a chance you could get in trouble. And you didn't have any lackey's this time to take the blame for you. So you learned to cover your tracks. You didn't want Internal Affairs to find out what you've done and you know that if you were ever found out, you would be arrested and imprisoned for life.

It's been a year since then, and you've gotten really good at hiding your activities. However, that hasn't stopped Internal Affairs from looking into your records. They've been doing so specifically because of the fact that you've been working on the big Delgado murder case. You've been working on it for weeks now, but you have nothing to show for it.

You managed to grab Delgado's wallet before it went into the evidence locker. You took the only thing you could, which were his credit cards. You figured the best course of action at this point would be to make it look like someone had tried to use the cards and then plant them on someone. It's not the best plan you've ever had, but it's the only thing you can think of, and it's got to work or you're not going to have anything to give to your superiors. You've put some charges on the card, and now it's time to get rid of them. But you're running out of time. the longer you go without giving them anyone, the closer IA will get to finding out any of the many crimes you have committed over the past few years and then you'll be done.

So you shouldn't let that happen.

Last Thought Before Game Start

Heh... all these people here at once. There's got to be some way you can take advantage of this situation.

Oh, and this would probably be a good place to plant that evidence.

Who You Know on the Train

01. - Some prissy little girl, probably just out of college, probably off on a "shopping adventure" with her boyfriend.

02. - The boyfriend who was dragged along to go shopping. He doesn't look thrilled about it.

03. - This guy looks like a nerd. He's probably a stalker or something. Those stalkers are always weird nerds or something.

04. Colt Carson - You've heard of this guy, but you've never met him. He calls himself a private investogator, but he's just a loser who probably couldn't make it as a cop.

05. - She looks like one of those TV psychics. The people who claim to talk to the dead. What a load of crap.

06. - This guy has some kind of hippy, artsy vibe about him. You never got along well with hippy artsy people.

07. - Some girl dressed up for her first job out of school, probably. Not really interesting to you.

08. - Christopher Wright – That whining kid you ran into on a bad day. You took out some of your frustrations on him.

09. - Fred Matthews – A drug dealer with whom you have a mutually profitable business association.

10. You know a bigshot pretending to try to look inconspicuous when you see one. This kid clearly thinks he's pretty damn important, even if he is acting like he doesn't want to be noticed.

12. - Another dressed-up kid going to work. Looks like the nerdy, fragile type.

13. Solomon Gold – CEO of the mega-corporation Gold Standard Entertainment. You’ve recently come into some information that he’s been a little creative with his financial record-keeping.

14. Henry Frasier – That damn hobo that’s been hanging around and won’t shift himself when you try to chase him off. Useless skell.

15. The train conductor. She looks like she could use a vacation.
