Plots

Darren's death Darren is connected to everyone. He was murdered, and Death gave him the chance to resolve it. The game is his attempt. What actually happened: Darren, depressed because Jessica broke up with him for Scott and because his boss fired him over a poorly written article, stumbled across a Patrick, a crooked cop collecting a debt, in Central Square T stop. Darren didn't see anything, but the cop didn't know that, and decided to push him onto the subway tracks just to make sure. In fact, Darren didn't even know anyone else was there until after being pushed onto the tracks. He was contemplating suicide and had just changed his mind when Patrick pushed him. William, a writer who is slightly psychic, has never actually met Darren, but has written a short story which is a retelling of the last few minutes of Darren's life.

Delgado murder

Gold Standard

Notes

William Hughes' sheet describes the short story with "He jumped to grab at the lip of the platform, grabbed on, started to pull himself up, saw a man in a baseball cap walk away as the train slammed into his side, horn blaring." The story itself doed not mention any such baseball cap.

Solomon's sheet says, "You even heard news that one of the people working for Nation Magazine was looking into what was going on and was getting close to the truth." It should go on to say that Solomon got that writer (Darren) fired.

Ways to embrace the metaplot:

Darren's not just trying to find his killer, he's trying to finish everything he was working on - uncover the corruption at Gold Standard,

Characters that need work: Henry - didn't know who was responsible; Solomon got him fired before he could find out enough. Frances contacted him anonymously to pass along the info, but is now having second thoughts, especially since Solomon's right here. Henry doesn't know who she is, but does have some way of identifying her

Jessica Hawthorne, the ex - needs work Scott Barrister, the new boyfriend - needs work Laura Dalton, the best friend - confront Jessica Colt Carson, the detective - find proof of Gold Standard embezzling, Delgado? Madame Zostra, Edna Finkelstein, the medium - learn more about embezzlement, perform readings to get exposure William Hughes, the writer - holy crap my story is true Shannon Gregory, the sister - Clarissa Wright, the suicide Winifred Matthews, the criminal Mike Jones, the Rock Star Patrick Doyle, the cop Frances Zabrensky, the interviewee Solomon Gold, the exec Henry Frasier, the homeless guy Terry Shipton, the conductor
