Your parents are just so unfair! They just don’t understand anything about life in High School. Yeah, maybe when you were younger you could follow them around the world and hang out while they dug around in the dust. Sometimes you even got bored enough to help out. But this is HIGH SCHOOL. You have a reputation to build. You have your own life now and your own plans, and they do not include missing all the important social events of the summer sitting around in some village in Brazil of all places. Who cares about Brazil! You just want to be with your friends, going out to movies and scoping out guys at the mall.
But here you are, missing out on all the most significant events of your adolescence, and all that your dad ever talks about is his Archaeology stuff. Hes gotten it into his head to make an archaeologist out of you too, and the thought is just too terrifying for you to even think about! How could he ever think that you’d want such a life. He clearly has no clue about the sort of refined and sophisticated person that you are.
You know exactly what you want to do with your life. You will follow in the footsteps of your idol, Daniel Steel, and create beautiful stories about love and romance and exotic places and oohhh… He is such an amazing writer! You could be just like him and collect the love stories of the couples you meet in life and weave them into rich tapestries of passion and beauty…
What you need is to finally find the most important thing in life for yourself. Love. How can you write about it if you’ve never experienced it? And how are you ever going to find it at the bottom of a dusty pit? And you are not going to find it in some crappy Brazil. Well… That guy you saw in the village was pretty cute… Maybe you could have a torrid affair with a hot Latin man. Oh! That would make such great material for a novel!

Aiden Fisher- Dad. :sigh: He just can’t understand your creative spirit. All he cares about is making you help him with the digging for old trash.
Colleen Fisher- Mom. She’s not as bad as Dad, but still, she is still convinced that you need to become an archaeologist. God! Such a bother!
Karyn Sims- A friend of your Mom and Dad’s, but you never did understand why she was on this trip.
Dr. Nancy MacDonald- Some biologist lady that is along on the trip.
Rayvin Crowe- He is one of Mom’s favorite students. He is kind of cool, but also really strange. He does have a very romantic name.
Betsy Gordon- This woman that works for Dad.
Horatio Salvadore- He’s this really hot guy that lives in the village near the dig.
Texas Nugent Thompson- He is this loud guy that works with Mom and Dad. He is actually kind of fun sometimes.
