Amnesia

Summary

RX-137 is person in a droid body with no memories of anything before serving on the Petunia.

What she does not remember is that she is Roxanne Rose. In her life, she worked for Banana where she learned too much about something the Homegalaxy Security robots was guarding the sector from: the Replicator. Roxanne was killed after speaking with the CEO of Banana about what she discovered. In order to preserve her skills, Roxanne's brain was scanned and her mind put into an android body using cutting edge technology. This was supposed to leave Roxanne (now Rex) unable to access any of her old memories.

Rex has a vague impression of having been alive at some point and is working at recovering her memories. With help from Jip Barton she can slowly regain those memories, including her marriage with Don Don and information about the Homegalaxy Security.

Memory 1

You are working at Banana writing the newest translation software. This software would let humans negotiate and trade with the aliens they met far more efficiently. It is so complex, however, that the computer running it needed to be nearly sentient in order to deal with it. Because of the complexity and the importance of the project, you have begun working with some of the robotics experts in Homegalaxy Security to make the perfect translation robot. Ideally, this robot could even act as a fully trustworthy diplomat.

Memory 2

You are waiting at home. You and your husband are both highly placed and busy. Despite this, you are madly in love with one another. You rarely see each other, but this weekend you will spend together. You have been looking forward to it for weeks. You spent hours making his favorite meal. You spread the table with roses and sunflowers. He is at the door and calls out your name...

Memory 3

In your work with the robotics people at Homegalaxy Security you stumbled across something important. There is a group of Homegalaxy Security robots that are preventing the importation of some breakthrough technology from some aliens. Either Banana doesn't know about what is going on (in which case they could use this knowledge), or they do, in which case you should be able to get a nice chunk of stock in return for keeping your mouth shut. You have carefully prepared your approach strategy and just finished making an appointment with the CEO of Banana for next week...

Memory 4

Tomorrow you have your meeting with the CEO of Banana. You have planned well, but it is possible that something could go wrong. You arranged to spend tonight with your beloved husband before heading to Banana headquarters in the morning...

Your beloved Donald has been advancing well within the ranks of his Corporation. He will soon be reaching the limits of what he can do with so little hereditary power. He has been very busy looking for new avenues, but you're glad you got this one night with him, just in case. He is at the door now and calls out your name... Roxanne Rose.

Memory 5

You walk into the CEO's office and he asks you some questions. You answer carefully, sounding him out about the Homegalaxy Security robots. He encourages you to go on and asks about what you know. You begin telling him. Before you can tell him about the safety precautions you have taken, a hidden door opens at the back of the room and a Homegalaxy Security robot walks in. The robot picks you up and sticks a needle in your arm before you can struggle. The room goes dark...

Memory Robots

These are the Homegalaxy Security robots who were hiding something! You now remember what they were holding back: the Replicator. If Replicators are able to get out it will destroy the electronics market. Heck, it would destroy the entire IA. The CEO of Banana knew all about it! That is why he and Homegalaxy Security had you silenced.

They didn't know that you had taken a last safety measure, before you went to talk to the CEO of Banana. You engraved the password to the controls of the Homegalaxy Security robots in the ring you gave your husband, Donald Donson.
