Poisonous Flora

  • Local plants cause hallucinations
  • Can't be serious enough to make people leave
  • Multiple paths to identify effects as mundane
    • Medic can treat the symptoms
    • Biologist can identify source
  • Should match up with local legends to put people at ease

Archaeology Goals

These goals involve finding items. They may overlap (an occult find can contain linguistic information and be monetarily valuable).

Valuable Finds

  • Can be both theft and legitimate profit
  • Some people can identify which objects are most valuable

Translation

  • Writing found carved in stone (visible from the beginning) and written "magically" (after the blacklights come on)
  • Translations can hint at more sinister messages that don't seem to appear in any of the carved messages
  • Can provide information for other plots

Occult

  • Potential goals
    • Find magical artifacts
    • Learn magical rituals
    • Identify magical sites
  • Likely provides abilities
  • Possibly also a goal of a non-archaeologist

Anthropology

  • Some items may be purely for this path, but likely every find can inform it
  • Can be used to find new dig sites
  • Can be of interest to the tourists
  • Can reveal beliefs and ancient use of the cave
