Character Sheet

You were always a bit of a tomboy when you were growing up. So it was no surprise that when you started school people there started calling you "Fred" rather than Winifred.

You were a tough kid, one of the only girls in your school who was okay with getting a little muddy when playing sports. You liked to play soccer, and you were pretty darn good at it.

In addition, you also ended up spending most of your free time with the guys in your school. They all considered you one of the boys. You always kept your hair short and you never wore clothes that were considered 'girly.'

You were never very good in classes, but you didn't mind. That wasn't why you went to school. You went to school to be with your friends and to play soccer. Classes just seemed to get in the way of all that.

So you got into trouble a lot as a kid. Be it for skipping class, getting into fights when people called you names or for being rude. You weren't liked by most people, but you got along well with the few people you were friends with.

Things went that way through high school. And you cared less and less about class as it got harder and harder. You practically stopped going to class altogether, and the only reason you showed up at the school at all was for the free food and to hang out with people.

That's how you met Stephen. He approached you one day because he said he thought you were 'cute.' You didn't appreciate being called that, but he wouldn't stop hanging around you. He would sit and have lunch with you even though you told him to go away.

It wasn't as though he wasn't cute. He was annoying, but he was cute. That is, until he offered to sell you drugs. You were definitely not going to do that. You didn't even drink. You didn't like the idea of not being in control of yourself. He didn't push it, which was nice.

But then he started telling you about how much money he made compared to how much work he did. It sounded like a sweet deal to you. He offered to cut you in if you worked together.

So you did. You two worked together, you dropped out of school, you made more money in those next few years than you had ever had before. You knew about the risks involved, but it was worth it.

Your relationship with Stephen grew and you two were basically going out, spending your ill-gotten gains on nice dinners, movies, and anything else you wanted to do.

That is, until things got a little more serious. You had been dealing with a gang in the city. They weren't that big, but you didn't want to get on their bad side. They had asked for a rather sizable order, but your supplier had some problems and couldn't get everything you asked for.

So when you and Stephen went to the gang to tell them that you didn't have what they wanted, they got a little violent. When you told them that you didn't know when you could get it for them, they opened fire.

Stephen didn't make it to the hospital.

After the funeral, you were determined to make sure everyone you dealt with with Stephen knew to deal with you and that you wouldn't take any crap. You tried to find your old supplier to get him back for Stephen's death. However, after looking for a while, it turned out that he disappeared after he found out about what happened.

It took you a while, but you managed to find a private detective. He wasn't a very big name guy, so you weren't worried about getting in trouble. His name was Colt Carson, but you won't hold that against him.

It took surprisingly little time, but that guy Colt found the guy. You paid him well, and then you went to the run down apartment where the guy who got Stephen killed was staying. Then you gave him what he deserved. You were careful to make sure that no one could prove it was you, but that everyone knew it was you. There was some kid outside the apartment where you did the deed, and you think he might have seen something. You tried to find him. His name was Darren Gregory. He seemed to have died, though, soon after. So there was no problem there. No loss there, you probably would have killed him anyhow.

After that you had the respect you deserved. People you dealt with never called you "little girl" or looked down on you.

You worked with Colt a lot ever since then. He's a reliable guy, gets the job done and doesn't talk too much.

You also started dealing with a cop recently. His name is Patrick Doyle and he's one of those tough guy cops that likes things his way and his way only. You treat him better than most people you deal with, but that's really only because he could throw you in jail or shoot you if he felt like it, and you've heard stories about him that tell you that he's done stuff like that already. He's not the only police officer that you've dealt with, but he's the one you know best. It's amusing to think that some of your better connections are with the police.

However, the more people you deal with, the more you've had to look over your shoulder when you walk down the street. You know that one of these days you're going to get yourself killed or something.

That day might happen sooner than you think. You have to bring a shipment of high quality narcotics to one of your regular customers. You locked it in a nice, old cigar case you use sometimes. Now you can't find it. So you're on your way to meet with the customer to tell him that you don't have the stuff. Images of Stephen's dying face have been flashing before your eyes over the last day or so.

You've been thinking about skipping town, but that's never a good plan in your line of work.

Gender Switched and Edited Version

You were a quiet kid when you were little, and you were small for your age, which didn't help. You didn't have many friends, but you didn't have any enemies or anything like that either. The only social thing you did was play soccer, and you were pretty good at it too.

Then one day, one of the bullies pushed you around and took your new soccer ball. When he was walking away, you took your chance and jumped on his back, hitting him until he let go of the ball. He collapsed and he had to go to the nurse's office, but you had your soccer ball back and no one messed with you after that.

You made a couple of friends. Some of the 'tough guys' were impressed with how you handled the bully. They accepted you into their circles and hung out with you almost every day.

Last Thoughts Before Game Start

Huh... about half of the people who live in your apartment building decided to take the train at the exact same time you did.

... and that detective. And the cop...

They're not following you, are they?

Who You Know on the Train

01. Some stuck-up spoiled brat dragging her boyfriend out on a shopping trip.

02. The boyfriend. Must be a real pussy to let his girlfriend drag him around like that.

03. Some dorky, awkward guy. God, guys like that get on your nerves.

04. Colt Carson – A private detective who helped you track down the guy that got Stephanie killed.

05. Christ, check out the gypsy getup on that woman. She's probably one of those fortune-telling shysters who cold read people and tell them what they want to hear.

06. This guy has some kind of hippy, artsy vibe about him. File them under the same category as "nerds."

07. Some girl dressed up for her first job out of school, probably. Beneath your notice.

08. Christopher Wright – The two of you share an apartment in the city. He helps you pay the rent, but you aren’t friends. To be honest, you think he’s a little weird.

10. This guy gives off way too much of a bigshot attitude for the way he seems to be trying not to be noticed. He may be trying to keep a low profile, but you can tell he thinks he's hot stuff.

11. Patrick Doyle – The dirty cop you have a very useful arrangement with. He’s got some power, so you try to stay on his good side.

12. Another dressed-up kid going to work. Yet another fragile nerd.

13. Obviously some kid of snobby rich guy. He looks like his limo broke down or something.

14. And, of course, the obligatory crazy smelly hobo is here. Damn trains.

15. The train conductor. She looks like she could use a vacation.
