Military Contractors
Both military contractors are convinced that the other leaked some shiny new military equipment to the insurgents.
Blackwater International

Blackwater was founded by a militant millenialist Christian. Has mythological reasons for being in Iraq. Need to summon the Beast of Babylon to bring about the end of the world.
- Joseph Prince (M)- Evangelist proselytizer - Wants to bring about the rapture, but also wants to save everyone. You find your faith when you hit bottom. Back history of ex-gay drug user, converted, went straight, joined military. Does not have all the information he needs. Knows that Al Araf is instrumental in bringing the Beast of Babylon, must find a way to help them.
- Note: I took out the bit about him joining the military and gave that to Schmitz instead. The contrast fits better, if you read the sheets.

- Erik Schmitz (M)- Ambitious, cares less about the goal than his place in fulfilling it. That's very nice, but I'm here to get things done. May not literally believe in the end of the world, this is just a route to power. If things don't work, it might be a stepping stone for him. "If there's a big enough paycheck, I'll believe anything". Money and land for military positioning, possibly support from groups plus, of course, whatever boss tells him.

Military contractor Aegis should want money - pursuing the oil well.
- Field Marshall, The Right Honorable Lord Lockwood KG (M)- Major oil investor, wants to support his company. Has his fingers in many pies. Everything is business, about money. War is about one country wanting what another country has, and the winners are the companies that supply both sides. Wants an oil reserve that no one knows about that also happens to be a ritual site, but must make sure that no one knows it's an oil reserve. Oil well is a dead Lovecraftian beast that turned to oil. Anything that can get him money or things that might make him money in the future. Knows full well that Emma is someone's agent, but doesn't care as long as she does her job.

- Emma Day (op) (F)- Infiltrator working for Massad. Follow boss's orders to keep cover. Doesn't want any mythical beasts around the middle east, because they WILL wind up attacking Israel. Has effective possession of a couple territories. Prevent religious extremists from having control in Iraq. Wants Iraqi government as fragmented as possible without descending into chaos.

- Tariq Ibn Faruq (M) - Leader - "He who pounds on the door, son of he who knows right from wrong" previously employed by Aegis. Parents were refugees from Iraq, born in UK, came back as military contractor and saw what was happening to his country. Was brought in by holy man who needed a face and a military leader. Technically Muslim, but cares far more for his people than for his religion. Wants the next holy site to get things back under control. Also wants political capital and land. Would love a government position.

- Abd-al Aziz Mamoon (M) - Holy Man - "Servant of the powerful" - Started out doing this purely for the people. Was an intellectual exploration. Now he's doing this because he can, entranced by the possibilities. Unable to stop digging. Wants the next site to summon more powerful things. Viewed with true awe: fear and respect. Has dried Shoggoth tentacle. Knows random bits of information about people. This is the prophesied meeting, and he knows about all the people here. Has a blurb on everyone, but only has names for the people he knows. "You're the one who wants the blood of the dead god to rise up from the land" - field marshal. More information is always good. Compulsion to figure everything out. Plans to sacrifice his daughter for a ritual. The Shoggoth reminds him of his beloved dead wife.

- Qamar Abd-al (F)- "Moon, daughter of servant" Daughter who is a CIA informant, collaborating with the CIA out of teenage rebellion. Used as a servant and sick of it. Has questions about mother who "died giving birth to her." Possible source for CDC of weird shit. Has a crush on the CIA agent to whom she reports, so she has to get the agent off alone. Get any possible information to CIA. Valuable as a sacrifice (teenage virgin with monster blood).

Al Araf has called a meeting. They want to get another site in order to control it. they say that they will stop the attacks if they get that site.

Has an artifact that she only partially understands. A truth compulsion device that has other interesting effects (gives a delusion half an hour later). Doesn't work on everyone. Comes in convinced that the Shoggoth is an alien and wanting to study it. Wants to talk to the insurgents, those with artifacts and those that claimed to use alien tech.

Wants political capital for the classical liberals and promises from them to maintain US interests. Has to string along informant teenager to keep the information. Interested in other revenue (Aegis). Has a lot of foreign pledged political capital and money and wants to cut deals within the government. Strong supporter of military contractors. Non-epic shoggoth worshiping cultist. Wants to protect sacred sites a bit: don't drill the blood of dead gods. Has other oil sites that would be fine. Totally convinced that most of the others want to drill for oil. Genuinely loves his shoggoth wife.
