Emerald LaGas, Chief of Food Services

Life is hard in food services. You are supposed to be in charge, but the bartender, Jesus Rodriguez, thinks he knows everything. Worse than that, after all the training you went through with Walton Worlds food services school, the captain has ordered you to submit to Jesus's unreasonable demands. Jesus doesn't even have his food services diploma, but he's an "artist" and you have to listen to him. Maybe you can sabotage his work when it can't be traced back to you.

At least there are two things that make life on this ship bearable. One is Fordy LaGeorge, the wonderful engineer. If the captain had a lick of sense, Fordy would be in charge of engineering, not that upstart alien Anish. Fordy has to work so hard for Anish that you never see each other. You know that if you had the time to talk, you could convince Fordy to marry you, but you never get the chance. Perhaps you can find a way to get Fordy promoted and Anish demoted.

The only other redeeming factor on this ship is Madison Wisconsin. Madison is the ship's Counselor and you use those services every chance you get. You can't cope with the stress on the ship. Madison has daily counseling sessions with everyone, but sometimes that just isn't enough. You need to talk to Madison every time something goes wrong so that you can work through your feelings. It was Madison's suggestion and you've gotten to appreciate it. Now you think if you didn't do that, you might explode!

Because you work in Food Services, you hear all kinds of things. You love picking up on the latest gossip. Some of it may be wrong, but you never know when it might come in useful. You chat with Morgan Iasthai, the nurse, from time to time about gossip. Peyton Nottingham, a security personnel, also likes to hear keep up on the latest.

The most interesting things you've heard lately are:

• Dorcas Peterson, the Petunia's Navigation Officer, is the secret lover of Sir Joseph Butler!
• RX-137, the Petunia's Communications Officer, is possessed by the ghost of a passenger who died on board the ship.
• Captain Picket is in love with First Officer Th'nein.
• Avi Levinstein, the Petunia's Doctor, is really an alien-made android, who is doing experiments on the ship's passengers and crew.
• There is a Utopian Society spy aboard the Petunia.
